A Look Back at EcoDoR 2026

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Agropolis International, the second study day of the Montpellier data workshop, EcoDoR, was held, with the theme “Research Data Law: From Legal to Ethical Considerations.”

Bringing together more than 88 participants—both in person and remotely—the event allowed for a very practical discussion of numerous aspects related to sensitive data, in both the social sciences and humanities and the health sciences, offering solid approaches to addressing these issues: the general legal framework, including a presentation of theJurisDoR online platform; ethics in animal experimentation; the impact of generative AI; health and research data (RIPH); interview methodology and lessons learned from countries in the Global South; and the challenges of anonymization.

Numerous discussions enriched this meeting, providing a unique opportunity to bring together legal and ethical perspectives.

Thank you once again to the speakers, who were able to clearly and vividly highlight the issues related to the legal and ethical aspects of research data.

The video recordings will soon be available on CanalU …
