Research Data Law: From Legal to Ethical Considerations
Date and location: June 9, 2026 | Agropolis International, Montpellier
As part of the Printemps de la Donnée, the Montpellier-based data workshop
EcoDoR is organizing a study day on June 9, 2026, at theAgropolis
International campus (1000 Av. Agropolis, 34090 Montpellier).
Under the theme “Research Data Law: From Legal to Ethical Considerations, ”
this event, intended for Montpellier’s research communities,
will bring together researchers, legal experts, data professionals, and institutional stakeholders
.
Throughout the presentations, several major themes will be explored:
- GDPR Requirements and Best Practices
- Processing and Sharing of Health Data
- The Impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence on Research Ethics
- Introducing JurisDor, the platform providing legal and regulatory support for research projects
- The Role of Ethics Committees and Balancing Scientific Requirements, Individual Rights, and Institutional Responsibilities
A space for discussion and dialogue
The EcoDoR 2026 Study Day will provide an ideal setting for bringing together legal, technical, and eth
al approaches, and for supporting research communities
in the responsible and informed management of data.
Social breaks (coffee breaks, lunch) will be provided for participating
.
For those who are unable to attend in person in Montpellier: access via videoconference will be available (interaction will be limited to the chat thread).
All presentations will be recorded and broadcast on the Atelier’s Canal-U channel.
