EcoDoR—it’s already been 3 years since we received the certification!
Accredited in December 2022 by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Space, the EcoDoR Data Workshop—“Toward a Research Data Ecosystem at the Montpellier Campus”—has successfully implemented several services for research teams to support them in managing research data:
- Scientists can submit their questions and requests through a one-stop shop launched last May and shared by EcoDoR’s 12 partners, with a joint team of responders.
- A checklist for reviewing data management plans, incorporating the recommendations of the 12 partners, was also posted online in 2025, and the working group is now focusing its efforts on establishing a network of shared research data coordinators.
- A training catalog now lists the programs available to researchers, and outreach initiatives and training sessions have been launched, including webinars (both live and recorded, available on EcoDoR’s Canal U channel), training on data management plans, and annual workshops…
Finally, new working groups involving all 12 partners are being set up to focus on best practices for using electronic lab notebooks, on leveraging datasets, and, in the near future, on the specific characteristics of data in the humanities and social sciences.
The network of staff supporting research data management is growing stronger and facilitates constructive exchanges and the sharing of best practices, particularly during in-person meetings (a full-day event in January 2025, a morning session in late November 2025, etc.).
EcoDoR is also part of a national network that is constantly expanding and that fuels local discussion.
