This training course familiarizes participants with the general context of Open Data and with the challenges, obligations, and opportunities involved in research data management. It teaches participants how to use data warehouses to find, deposit, and (re)use research data, and how to implement a Data Management Plan (DMP). Finally, it offers practical workshops on DMP-OPIDoR and Recherche Data Gouv.

Doctoral training in "Research Data" (UM)

The training course provides an introduction to Open Science and Open Data. It also covers the theory behind Data Management Plans (DMPs) and explains how to adopt best practices for data preservation throughout a research project. Finally, it teaches participants how to use data warehouses to find, deposit, and (re)use research data. The practical part of this module is dedicated to the online DMP OPIDoR tool for creating and writing DMPs.

DU Scientific Data Management (UM)

The aim of the course is to raise awareness and provide training in open science techniques, as well as to explain their meaning and implications. The training program offers a broad range of courses in computer science applied to data management, data engineering (anonymization, storage, archiving), project engineering, intellectual property and digital law, etc. For this reason, the training program also offers courses in knowledge and know-how (practical work).

This is a degree program leading to a university diploma (DU). However, some modules can be taken independently of each other. In this case, the program will only lead to a certificate and not a degree.
