Publishing a Data Paper: Challenges Related to Best Practices, Scientific Integrity, and Open Science

Laurence Dedieu explains how a Data Paper fits into the global open science movement and addresses the challenges of data reuse, scientific integrity, reproducibility, and research transparency. The primary objective of a Data Paper is data reuse. To be successful, a Data Paper must follow best practices—particularly those specific to the discipline—in terms of description, documentation, and open formats, so that the data is discoverable, accessible, understandable, interpretable, and reusable.
