Data management and PGD
Why develop a Data Management Plan?
Since the Amsterdam Call for Action on Open Science in 2016 and the 2021 decree on compliance with scientific integrity requirements by public research institutions, the data management plan, or DMP, has become an essential document for any research project.
However, the DMP and the principles it promotes are not new, and traces of them can be found as early as the 1980s at giants such as NASA.
But what exactly is a DMP? What are the principles that this document aims to promote, and where do they come from?
Why is it an essential document for any research project?
If you want to become an expert on DMPs, then this webinar is for you.

PGD entities, sustainable PGDs: for whom and for what?
The implementation of the DMP (Data Management Plan) is constantly evolving. Beyond the project DMP, which is limited in time, a more permanent exercise is emerging: the entity DMP. Unfortunately, this term is very generic and encompasses a variety of contexts that are very different from one another. Addressing the subject of entity DMPs raises many questions: which entities (platforms, units, etc.)? For what purposes?
How can an entity DMP be distinguished from a data policy? What synergies exist with project DMPs and between entity DMPs? What recommendations can be made to those wishing to draft an entity DMP?
Jean-François Dufayard, Researcher and Scientific Data Advisor in the Biological Systems Department (BIOS) at CIRAD, member of the French Institute of Bioinformatics, member of the National Committee for Open Science.

Get started with DMP OPIDoR to create your data management plan
Writing a Data Management Plan can sometimes be complex or even difficult. Fortunately, there are tools available to help with this task. Based on the open source code DMPRoadmap (Digital Curation Centre, University of California Curation Center) and managed by the Inist-CNRS teams, DMP-OPIDoR is an intuitive and easy-to-use tool for drafting DMPs. Recommended by the ANR and Recherche Data Gouv, it is the most widely used tool by the French-speaking community and also has an English interface.
This webinar is designed to introduce you to the interface and the various sections of the DMP-OPIDoR tool.
